Rest, Don't Quit!
Okay, so I think this is all on our minds these days...we are tired! Tired of the negativity, the up and downs, the emotions that go from being "I've got this" to "Mercy, what now." Mental exhaustion is real people, trying to be positive and upbeat all the time takes work...jeez! Of course the fatigue will set in and each day feels harder than the one before. Sounds familiar? I know it is for me and each day I look at how I can make it better than the last, but it takes work, mental work.
There are tools that can help us daily, as a Coach not only do I teach them, I use them for myself. We need to tap into them and practice...practice and practice.
Here are my two MAJOR ones that help me through when my mental fatigue sets in.
I hit my pause button! YES I do!
We are human, so sometimes when we feel like we have no more to give or even receive, we get numb and blocked and when that happens, then the guilt sets in so we just push ourselves to the back, put ourselves last. Well a message has been sent…listen up! It is time to hit your pause button. RELAX, REFRESH and RENEW as long and as many times as you need to replenish. Now, please do not confuse taking care of yourself with selfishness. Absolutely not, you are NOT being selfish by looking after yourself! You need to nourish your body, your mind and your soul as when we deplete ourselves, not only are we affected but so is everyone else around us.
Find your balance, the balance between the care that you give yourself and the care that you give to others. When you find that you are giving more to others and not enough to yourself, trust me, you will be notified..more on that in the next blog :-) Give yourself a gift of renewal, gift of self love, of compassion…give yourself what you deserve! Do what speaks to you, can be as simple or deep as you want, choice is all yours. Give yourself that permission!

I cannot stress enough the power of support!
Now, I know many of you have differing versions of what support means, but today we have so much at our fingertips, our disposable. From a simple phone call, online support sessions to an office visit, the options are endless, all that is required of you is a willingness to want support and choose what best suits YOUR needs. It could be a weekly coffee date with a friend to share, a monthly online session with a coach to get some clarity/direction, a therapist who you visit when you need "topping" up.
We all need an outlet, a perspective shift, an unbiased opinion.
We are living in unprecedented times with CoVid, having never seen anything like this, how are we to know how to act, react, or behave? These are uncharted waters so it is vital that our "tanks" are full and our minds are clear.
